The focus of this book deals with God’s “time past” program with Israel giving a basic understanding what God created Israel for; what His plan and purpose is with them. This ‘running survey’ starts with the book of Genesis and finishes with the early part of the Lord’s earthly ministry. It will provide a basic survey of God’s word concerning the outworking of His plan and purpose with Israel taught “rightly divided” giving a better understanding and backdrop, so to speak, in God’s “now” time program and dealings with us today.
This series of lessons is composed of 2 sections. The first is a short, 4 lesson introductory section dealing with the Bible itself for what it is. There are a number of things about the Bible itself that it is important for children to understand and appreciate. The second section is extensive and composed of 80 lessons in which a ‘running survey’ is accomplished. It starts with the book of Genesis and finishes with the early part of the Lord’s earthly ministry; including His early boyhood, ‘signs ministry’, prayer and the parables.
A basic Biblical theology will be provided for the children as they follow the Bible through from Genesis to the Gospels ‘rightly dividing the word of truth.’ They will come to appreciate the sense of the lay out of the Bible as they follow God’s “time past” program and dealings with the nation of Israel.
